September is an exciting month for one of our marine industry clients, Silver Ships. This month, their marine design team, which is made up of naval architects and engineers, celebrates its first official birthday as being a comprehensive, on-site extension of the company.

Silver Ships’ final products – durable, mission-specific aluminum workboats – go through an intense development and building process. The actual building of these vessels would not be possible without the meticulous and accurate work of the naval architects and engineers on their team.

What is Naval Architecture?

A naval architect is a marine professional responsible for the design, construction and repair of ships, boats, other marine vessels and offshore structures. Working with a team of various engineers, a naval architect ensures a safe, economic and seaworthy design is produced for each vessel.

Silver Ships has an on-site accredited Naval Architect and Engineering staff that designs all boats within 3-dimensional modeling and hydrodynamic design software. The design development work, calculations and evaluation throughout every stage of the build process ensures that each project safely meets every requirement of the customer’s mission for the vessel.

It’s a pleasure partnering with our client’s team of naval architects and engineers. They are a testament to the importance of providing high-quality work and results from the first initial design to the delivery of a boat. Congratulations on your first birthday!
